Vacation mode ... burnout ... DVDs!

Hello! Ahh...it's been forever, but like, really, it's been forever. Ive been so burned out lately and it feels like blogging isnt so worth it anymore. But i feel like that mindset is kinda stupid. So ill just blog whenever i want.

How has March been treating everyone? It's been fine-ish for me. 

It was Ramadan, and i somehow managed to survive fasting through all of it (except for when i drank water on accident twice in a row in one day but we arent gonna talk about that its over now and i WILL be making that day up OKAY) without getting my period. 

Now i need to watch my diet much closer than usual because these past few days ive been getting horrible heartburn. Im only 18 and i feel like im 30 with how often my chests starts to hurt...this morning it hurt especially bad and i had to take some meds...ugh...

Besides that, i feel like ive just been burned out in terms of studying. It feels so daunting and i just can not be bothered anymore. Thankfully, its not over yet. There's a month left for me to get my shit together. Yay! ^o^ Its a bit crazy to think that after this, there will be no more a-levels or IGCSEs. there will be no more studying for anything besides school...wow. I hope i can work hard...

Sappy stuff aside, guess who (finally) got to order a bunch of DVDs~~~~~!!!!!!! MEEEEEE~~~~!!!!!

Everything that i got has a DVD, even the CDs! Well, except for the regular version of Yowasete Mojito, which was in a set containing every version of Yowasete Mojito. Mojito? Mojito...Mojito

The shokai genteiban ones even came with cards of Kenji!

Uhm...what's this green bitch doing here! Speaking of Kyan, my friend's friend likes calling him 'petit lesbienne'. That's kinda cute...he's like the second shortest member behind Sho and i guess he could be lesbienne...if we gave him estrogen 

It feels so so so cathartic getting to order DVDs again. Besides my parents' burning hate (hyperbole...but theyve gotten sick of it...) for Buyee, my past hauls from oh I dunno HALF A YEAR AGO had no DVDs whatsoever! Partially because I had no more space on my poor little laptop. And no hard drive! So i figured I'd just wait on DVDs. 

Do i regret it? Slightly. I regret a lot of things. Like not buying that Life is all right feat. Kenji DVD before someone else got it. And not buying more cheki. I shouldve bought more cheki.

I bought 10 DVDs, 3 CD+DVD releases, and 1 CD. I'm so happy.

Today i shipped out all my individual DVDs, so like 6/10, since the other 4 came in sets. I'm waiting on my Golden Album CD+DVD to arrive to the warehouse for me to ship the last package out, but considering i bought it from that one red and white checkers CD store off of jp mercari (IYKYK) it'll take...a while... ;_; but it's whatever.

That and also there's a TAX I'LL HAVE TO PAY ONCE MY PACKAGE ARRIVES??????!!!!!! HUUUUUHHHH!!!!!!???? (said in a loud anime girl voice) it should be an inexpensive fee but...still a bummer :T i could buy myself a daiso lashes case with that money!

I hope to remember this blog again when my DVDs arrive. Take care of yourselves.

On ZOMBIE disbanding and a weird thing I’ve noticed with Zany Zap bands

For anyone out of the loop, ZOMBIE, a well-known osare kei band, is gonna disband after their final live in July of this year. They’ve undergone a lot of lineup changes since 2019; from their guitarist Sho getting fired, to Reika leaving in late 2023, to their vocalist changing...simply put, a lot has happened to them over their nearly 12 years as an active band.

This whole ordeal got me thinking, hey, ZOMBIE is under the same label as Golden Bomber. A quick look at any Zany Zap social media account shows that them and GB are considered one of, if not, the only active v-kei acts under said label. That doesn't mean they're the only acts though. We had SINCREA and MANNEQUIN, both of which disbanded a few years after formation, with SINCREA members forming Fest Vainqueur, and MANNEQUIN ending with nothing further coming from it :( both bands were pretty active in their heyday, being involved with the (somewhat) yearly Zany Zap Summit events. 

ZZS as a whole isn't entirely dead though. Ever since, they've held it in 2017 and 2022 respectively alongside Guild, another Zany Zap band; but they're out of the question, having left the label in 2022 (i think...). Events and labels aside, the one thing that messes me up is that every ZZ band that isnt Golden Bomber is, in a sense, kind of doomed; staying loyal to the visual kei genre comes at the cost of being active. It makes me wonder, now that ZOMBIE is soon to disband, what's gonna happen to ZZ as a label? Is it just gonna have Golden Bomber as their only active act? Will new ones be added? Will pre-existing Euclid Agency acts be transferred to ZZ?

Regardless, the news is pretty sad. I'm hoping the members of ZOMBIE can find some kind of new path with their careers, whether it be going solo, starting a new band, or simply retiring...until then I hope they'll make the best of their time <3

Glucose respiration

The day before yesterday I had a dream where I got to meet up w an internet friend of mine who was popular online because of a memorial Instagram account she had dedicated to her younger brother. She never public ally revealed how he died so when we met I asked her and through her tears she talked about how her dad was an “open masochist” who was into this one specific kink called “glucose respiration”. It consisted of chugging glucose and staying as still as possible until your body could get rid of it one way or the other. Usually it could just be done with medical grade glucose (the kind they give to babies with infant jaundice. I know this because according to my parents I had infant jaundice and they had to feed me glucose in some kind of ICU) or a thicker, harder to obtain glucose just for this kink. Her brother got a hold of this thicker glucose and had somehow drank enough to kill him. After that, i went to the airport and then had to evacuate because they found a really toxic isotope of sodium in the air. Damn...

Anyways, I’m writing this on my iPhone 6! The typing sounds are fun. Using this thing is very cathartic...but blogging isn’t so efficient...(anime girl voice)Uuuuu....doushiyou......

Yesterday i got the news that i got a D in both my biology quizzes. 

Two weeks are left until Ramadan.

I know this story all too well...

All day ive been studying the SAME BIOLOGY TOPIC; photosynthesis. Dont ask me what photophosphorylation is. I will not be able to tell you. 

I still need to study the nervous system too...agh...

Whatever. Once im done writing this, im gonna make some instant noodles and call it a day.

Torture aside, it was raining! Yay! I ate too much cinnabon today. So. Good. 

I called my friend and we watched the new alien stage episode together. Hyuna... :(

I also got to draw again! I got over my hatred for art! For the next two weeks, at least...

Ah...S.Q.F...they'd probably be my honmeiban if golden bomber wasnt my honmeiban >_> Today i managed to find their Cold Romance 2006 DVD, and it's such a travesty. Song after song after song. No MC. Nothing. Just pure song-performing willpower. I love it. The venue's so small you can see cameramen in the corner recording the DVD. Not a single man in the audience. Backstage footage of a band member smoking a cigarette. It's just beautiful. I love this. I love everything. I. love. it. There's even a slideshow with an instrumental version of Brilliance in the background. That and Cold Romance is just a really really good album...

One song i found interesting was Shiro no Chocolate. Apparently, it's on the CD single for Maria but a) ive never seen it in the digital singles tracklist and b) i cant find the Maria CD anywhere! Except for yahoo auctions. I wanna hear a studio version someday. It sounded really cute. It's a Valentine's Day song. Fitting!

I haven't been as sad but i'll admit, this month's kind of wrung me dry like a towel...

I can't help but think, I wanna draw! Then never drawing...i just cant get myself to put the effort into drawing when i know no one will truly, genuinely care. There's so much art i want to draw and yet i never feel like drawing any of it and over what? Something so pointless...

Drawing just doesn't make me happy anymore, not like it used to. What to do...it's not daijobu anymore (starts to cry) 

While writing the previous paragraph, i realized that none of this really matters. I took a break to stalk Kenji Darvish's blog posts from 2017 for my own pleasure because i havent done that in a while. Last time i was on his blog i was saving really old pics for a scrapped video...Hey. You should do that too. Stalk your honmei's social media. It's always morally ethical.

Translating Misora Jump was interesting. I tried staying as faithful as i could to the original lyrics...i hope it worked out well! I'm still new to translating so do tell me if i made a mistake!
